OFA joined a small coalition of Ohio trade associations to petition PUCO in opposition to the proposed AEP rates for GS2 customers. Here is a very brief letter of notification to PUCO from OFA, the Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Association, Flexible Pavements of Ohio, and Ohio Ready Mix Concrete Association. The coalition is working to become involved in a current case against the proposed rules. There are many other trade, manufacturing and public interests within the AEP service area that will be affected by the rate changes if they are approved by PUCO. The new rates are scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2012 with the approval of the new Electric Security Plan (ESP). Rates would remain effective through 2014.
