The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry invites you join us for our 15th annual Teacher Field Days, held at Vinton Furnace State Forest!

Our theme for 2019 is The Birds of Vinton County. Come learn from experts in birds and forest habitat. You can also obtain Project Learning Tree & Project WILD certification (check the video--Why PLT? http://forestry.ohiodnr.gov/plt). We will be not only become familiar with forest song and game birds, but how their health and populations are monitored and the importance of forest management to support them.

Please share this with your staff, especially new teachers

There is a one-time $25 mail-in non-refundable pre-registration, which includes lunches. All PLT and WILD books are provided by ODNR. Priority will be given to two-day registrants, and teachers who participate both days and complete a follow-up assignment are eligible to purchase graduate credit through Ohio University.

Please let me know your registration information (see below) by May 24 (greg.smith@dnr.state.oh.us). Registration fills up early, so don’t delay! 380 teachers have attended these field days, and thousands of students have benefited from the information they have learned about forests and the life and economy they support!
